As we enter the summer of 2021, there's an element of doubt about what Rotary continues to offer the connections between people that Rotary members have appreciated over the years. Although the "hands in space" mantra is undoubtedly an integral part of our routine, there's no doubt that the trust of Rotary has been growing and more members are making face-toface connections. However, the nature of Rotary is changing. We are still uncertain about the way in which our work with humanity is going to incorporate the highly appreciated human connections which Rotary members enjoyed in the earlier years. Although the "hands looking outwards" mantra is sure to become a regular routine at the club, there's no doubt that there is a feeling of trust is growing and more members are making face-to faces connections. Rotary has changed. Rotary networks help to build lasting friendships. For the sake of keeping our meetings online, we've reintroduced service as well as social gatherings in a meeting room. For the sake of building a better future for Rotary, we have used the opportunities of the epidemic and our previous habits. Recent Rotary survey found that around 75% clubs were planning to go on the same business routines. Listen to this article 1. Amanda Watkin's General Secretary Column, Rotary Magazine. A recent Rotary survey revealed that approximately 75% of clubs are planning to carry on with their "business like regular" initiatives and projects that have previously helped communities across Great Britain and Ireland. I am equally proud to see that the Rotary Support Centre team continues to supply valuable information and resources to help spread the word about these projects and ensure that the infrastructure is maintained to keep members and the public safe as compliance and insurance is essential. We are aware that volunteering via the community of Rotary builds lasting relationships based by the common experience volunteering for the community's benefits. It's amazing to observe how members of our club have come up with innovative solutions for certain of the most challenging issues. I'm so grateful for the fact that Rotary allowed me to become a member in 2002. Rotary provided me, as it has for so many other people an extensive network of like-minded, trustworthy people from which I've developed genuine friendships over the past 20 years. We should now ask family members as well as friends to become members of this incredible network.
